Scorsese's "Silence" released on 17 Aug. in Thailand

I didn't expect at all that Martin Scorsese's (or Endo Shusaku's) "Silence" would be screened in Thailand. I thought that impresarios wouldn't be bold enough because they knew Thai movie goers would not have much interest in the theme (martyrdom in Christianity)

The movie will be released in Thailand on 17 Aug. I want the film to succeed here (particularly after the lukewarm responses of the critics in the US) because Endo was my hero when I was a boy, not as a serious catholic novelist, but as a humorist who liked practical jokes.

In stead of hypocritical & abracadabra Oe, he should have received the prize!
